Best "Rake/Stance" for a Hot Rodded 60-66 C10?

Ok..just curious what your opinions are on the best "stance" or "rake" for a hot rodded c10? Low in the back with the nose in the air? Lower in the front with tail up in the air? Leveled and lowered...so many ways to go.

I keep seeing trucks from car show/swap meet pics with lowered rears but as a kid I recall that most guys had their hot rods as high in the arse end as it would go...

Pics would be nice too...of course!

To me, a hot rod should have the rear a little higher than the front... like this.

Nice Truck Stealth...it's hard to determine on my monitor for sure but it looks like your tails up a bit from the front? It could be the driveway though. What was your drop front and back if you don't mind telling me?

I think the rear in the air looks best. I have tried leveling out my step side a couple of times and I never like it.

This pic is bouncing around on here in a few places, but here we go again. 5.5'' in the front and unknown flip on the rear, guess is 5-6''. I like a little rake on them.

almost noticeable rake, I was always tired as a teenager of trying to stay on the seat when the back end was like 6/7 inches higher than the front....

I REALLY like Rich 5150's stance. And I also really like the stance on the following gents' trucks:

(oh yeah, and to answer the question posed - I like em stock/leveled, or lowered/leveled, or lowered with front slightly lower than rear. Not a weeds guy personally, but I'm coming around to the idea after seeing some of these that come a lot closer to the weeds than mine!)

I like the back a little higher than the front. My truck may not look very good but I like the stance.

Even though the front on mine is excessively high by modern standards, the truck still has a nose down rake with the tire stagger.

THIS is the PERFECT stance. It just doesn't get any better IMO.

Re: Best "Rake/Stance" for a Hot Rodded 60-66 C10?

here's my "stock" rake, if you will...
The back end is much higher because it's on a ramp, but that's not important right now (couldn't resist). Anyhoo - mine has a little bit of a fwd rake, not much though.

Re: Best "Rake/Stance" for a Hot Rodded 60-66 C10?

Lots of great trucks guys! Sounds like the tail up is the way to go! I think I'll try to lower mine a tad so the tires fill the wheel wells a little more but keep the factory rake in the rear instead of all the way level. Somebody mentioned sliding off their seat as a kid and I can remember that problem riding in my uncle's Monte Carlo

Here's mine at factory still. Lots of work to do...

I'd like to keep the same rake just lower it a bit.

Re: Best "Rake/Stance" for a Hot Rodded 60-66 C10?

I always like the back end up in the air a bit. Plus, with my bike or any load in the back it just only ever sits level. I hate it when a truck gets nose-high from a load in the back.

Re: Best "Rake/Stance" for a Hot Rodded 60-66 C10?

on my old '93 C-1500 i went with a lowered/level stance and really liked it...but on a hot-rod classic, i like the rear to be a little higher than the front....my '66 short/fleet won't be lowered at all but rather left at stock height....but when i can afford to do a custom build with my future project(s), they'll most likely have a little bit of rake

i don't like that Cali-style(?) where the arse end is squatted lower than the front
