steering column
will a 1988-1994 steering column work in a 1967-1972 chevy truck, or is there another steering column other than a van column, be modified to work in our trucks.

Re: steering column
I don't know about the 88-94 column, but i do know that a 73 to 87 column will work. It is the same length but it has a different transition cup(the cup part that flows from the upper column to the dash.) It bolts in the same way but you will need to make it fit in some ways. you will need to use a different intermediate shaft since it is a double-d instead of splined and will need a wiring harness adapter. Also, there is an ignition lock in the column that needs to be dealt with or you can just leave it if you want. right now i have one temporarily in my 69 just to steer the frame and cab around when i push it.
In my opinion, it doesn't look horribly out of place, but the van column definitely looks like it belongs there. |

If I stripped it clean and kept the ignition & wipers on the dash it would be much easier to retrofit.

Re: steering column
I bought a 86 motor home the other day it is a chevrolet P30 chasis and the colomn looks like the truck tilt except the shifter is stright instead of angled. I already had one [motorhome tilt on the rack and it looks really close. I installed it into my 68 but tookit out when the turn signal switch was bad and I installed a van tilt instead.
