So there's this new Salt Flats movie coming out
This is probably the wrong place for this, but bear with me.
Here's the trailer: http://ziprage.com/gear/the-boys-of-bonneville-trailer/ I was watching the news last night and a story came on about the premier of this movie and they were talking about how they came to rebuild the original Mormon Meteor, and it turned out that the machinist that rebuilt the motor on this car is the same guy that has my 292 blocks I've known him for a while now and he comes highly recommended, but now I have a real good feeling about how my motors will come out.

Re: So there's this new Salt Flats movie coming out
I bought several copies of the movie when I was at Speed Week. They had a salt flats premier at one of the casinos, and the Mormon Meteor was on display.
Even if you are not a big fan of speed racing its a pretty cool movie with tons of historical footage. Kind of like NASCAR for me, I'm not a big fan, but I have a box set of movies that I really love that chronicles the history of NASCAR.

Going to the Salt Flats is a monumental experience. Even if nothing is going on there. It is a must see site. Just knowing about the history there and being able to stand on the ground where so many land speed records were set is something else.

Apparently so. Last time we went to Bendover to do some gambling, we stopped at the rest area just out of town, the one that is right on the edge of the salt, and there were two different couples standing out there getting their wedding pictures taken! I took pictures of that, but I can't find them just now.
