Rear End Help Please
Hey guys, first let me start off by saying this is the best site ever. I've been slowly restoring my 65 c-10 LWB and I've learned a ton from you guys. Anyway, I need some help...and I know this is probably a topic that may have been beat to death, so please don't kill me.
I just picked up a 72 c-10 donor for free. It has the front disc/power steering I need. However, the rear end is my question. I know the 72 rear will bolt right in, but I've heard that it might be wider. Is this true? Is it still workable or should I skip using that rear end? Please help. Thank you! |

Re: Rear End Help Please
According to others:
The 12 bolts that have the 5x5 wheel bolt pattern are 1-1/2" wider over all than your '65 12 bolt. I don't think there is an issue unless you are trying to run wide rear rims/rires, but the difference can be made up in backspacing. Hope that helps.

Re: Rear End Help Please
...I trimmed 1" off the inner lip of the wheel well, and put 15 X 8" wheels on with no problem...

Re: Rear End Help Please
Perfect! Well in that case I'll go ahead and use it. I'm planning on running stock style wheels with white walls anyway, so they should be fine. Thank you guys soo much for the feedback! Nice truck btw!
