Ford np205
Looking for some help. Tried searching but couldn't really get what i was looking for, i know its out there just cant find it. Im getting a np205 from a ford bronco, i dont know the year. I have a 79 k35 with a th400 and a np203. What will i need to make the 205 fit my truck. Ive been doing some searching and know the splines will be different. Also i will need a different tail shaft for the th400? Anyone else done this swap? Are the ford 205 way different that the chevy 205? Thanks!

Ford np 205 are Driverside drop. Trade it for a GM 205.

Re: Ford np205
If you want to run this transfer case you'll have to count the splines and figure out what you need, as well as find a Ford front axle. Worthy swap if you come across a Dana 60 HP, but they're not cheap and definitely not easy to find.

Re: Ford np205
The combo you have now will only work with what you have now. The 203 version of the TH400 bas a stickout of an inch, only work with the 203. In order to run a 205, will need the matching adapter and 205, which there is two versions.
Im looking for a 203 and possibly a 400, where in PA are you? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Ford np205
You could connect the 205 to the gearbox of your 203 with a doubler kit from Offroad Design then change your front axel to a high pinion ford dana 60 . It's been done .

Re: Ford np205
You could physically flip the case for a pass drop, but you will have oiling issues. If it were a dedicated crawler, I would consider it if the budget was next to nothing. Pull the input shaft and the 32 spline front output for later doubler use and find a GM 205 to run with what you have now.

Re: Ford np205
If it was a divorced case, and the input side is machined flat, you can drill/tap to whatever pattern you want. Well, 6 bolt round at least. Change the input to correlate with your adapter, mod for the shifter, couple other misc stuff, done.
