Black truck, tan interior pics?
Hello all,
I'm looking to buy my next truck, and one of the options I'm looking at is a black 72 Cheyenne 4x4 3/4 ton. The spid sticker indicates it was originally black (600 BLACK) with saddle interior (621 SADDLE TRIM CUST). It has since been changed to black interior, but if I bought it I might want to put it back to tan.... I don't think I've ever seen a good picture of this color combo. Anybody have a pic or two to share of a black / tan combo truck? I'm also looking at a 72 GMC that has a color code of 565 Black / Rd Orange. It is orange with the black roof. Anyone have any good pics of those? Couldn't find many pics of those either.... Jake

Black with saddle interior is super sharp, yet not real common. Here are a couple of Blazerman's '71 K/20 (in case he didn't see this). This is one beautiful interior:

I have to side with Tim on this one. Tan inside a black truck just looks right...

Ya, I just found those pics searching his posts. I'm thinking that I LOVE that interior... Of course it appears to be damn hard to find that interior to put it back to original!

Re: Black truck, tan interior pics?
I managed to assemble all the pieces for my '72 GMC. The seat cover, dash pad,arm rests, steering wheel, and carpet are available and if you can't find the door panels and headliner there's always dye. Seatbelts are always the hard part for any color. They can be re-webbed,then you just need the covers.Black is always the easiest.
But,black and saddle look awesome with the scroll interiors because they look like real leather colors. And,if you have woodgrain the saddle really goes with that. Black paint really sets it off.

Looks great, IMHO it might be more of a hassle for you but it would be worth it when you were done!!

Re: Black truck, tan interior pics?
I was never a fan of either woodgrain or saddle by themselves but am more of a fan now after seeing pics of that K/20!! They look well together with black. Now, its too bad black trucks (originally black) are rare.

Re: Black truck, tan interior pics?
Wow, saddle does look pretty good. I think pretty much any color with black would look good except for maybe blue or green.
*edit* oops, I posted in the wrong thread and I can't delete. |

Re: Black truck, tan interior pics?
Well most of the colors offered back then look good with black. Just some appeal more than others. Saddle goes great with black, white and red.
