Re: carburetor options

I'm sure the q-jet is great but i have had good experience with holleys . a 500-550 DP or a 570 should work pretty good

I second the quadrajet for a daily driver. Hard to beat...

Re: carburetor options

1. Properly rebuilt Quadrajet for your application;
2. 600 cfm Holley with vacuum secondaries.

Re: carburetor options

An Edelbrock Performer intake with a Q-jet is my preference but 2 nd. would be the 1406 Edel. carb.

Re: carburetor options

Q jets from 75 up have electric choke ,yes M4ME.. I have to admit I have a holley on my truck now , but not because it is the carb I want.. it was the carb I had ... I have not had the time to rebuild my countless afb or qjets that are cluttering my bench ....

Re: carburetor options

Naw.....you need to get one of this guy's carbs! He can operate it backwards off the secondaries as good as the primaries!!!! Some big shot carb builder that goes by "HP Carburetors". Looks a lot like Ricky Bobby!

Re: carburetor options

600 CFM 1850 Holley... or if you wanna retain the stock Q-puke manifold and not use and adapter, go to a Holley 650 CFM Spread Bore carb.
