1932 Chevrolet PickUp Truck

Found this out in the High Desert and it followed me home. It has a few leaks to fix (Front Crank Seal and Honeycomb Radiator). It fires right up and drives real nice for an original truck. It is all original and all there with the exception of the bed and 1 piece of garnish molding.

The wood in the base of the body is rotted away so it needs to get a new Wood Kit, they make them out of White Ash. It would also look much better with a bed back on it.

It would look great Chopped 4" and Fenderless too.

It is a straight 6 and 3 speed transmission for now. It also came with a complete extra rear end.

It is currently registered with a Califonia Title. It is an Oakland Built BB 109" Confederate PickUp.

sone would say that you are destroying a survivor.. but man that's a cool arse truck. (and will be when done)
and you can sell off the removed parts to make some money back.

Please dont chop that! its a gorgeous old original truck and those need to be preserved, not modified and customed ,Historic value is sometimes a far cry better than a showcase for ones work ( and im sure your custom work is great)

I'd chop it and not think twice. How much use is it going to see in original state, and how much use would it get as a built up shop truck?

I bet the shop truck would get a whole bunch more miles AND smiles!

I don't see how chopping the top will make it any more of a shop truck or cause it to be driven any more. It would actually make a more realistic shop truck with the top left alone because back in the day rodders were too busy chopping cars to put the shop mule out of commission for a chop job. The whole vibe with a shop truck is not too much attention to detail,an "I don't give a hoot" attitude,and just enough touches to show it's a custom car/hot rod guy's truck. Nothing over the top or complicated,just enough to make it a bit cooler than a stocker.
So,that's a Confederate as opposed to an International I guess?

I am not opposed to cutting up good metal, but I would never chop that truck. It looks sweet like it is. Get the mechanics in shape and roll that old girl like she sits.

Yeah,I'm a rodder at heart. But,I like'em all. It's nice to see some preserved original,which this one is not exactly. But,as an old school shop truck is how I commented before. It has a great vibe as is,too. It was fixed up a bit decades ago and "there it is".

I am currently looking for an extra rust free cab to build with the new wood.

I am fixing the leaks and will be servicing everything on this truck.

When finished I will take everything I dont use and put it together to sell.

In reality it will be an almost complete running truck depending on the other '32 Cab I find.

I dont want to scap what I dont use.

Alot of what I need is not available any other way.

It will end up Chopped 4"-5", Fenderless, Raised Bed with Commercial Headlights and Chevrolet Tailights on Custom Stands.

It will get Schroeder Sprint Cowl Steering with the Axle in front of the '32 Car Grill.

It will get the L79 327 Engine Dressed in Finned Aluminum and Offenhauser/Rochester Tri-Power and either a TKO600RR or Richmond Road Race 6 Speed.

I will get a custom perimeter frame with Drilled and 4" Drop Straight Axle Front, Transverse Mono Leaf, Custom Split Bones Front/Rear, Champ Quick Change Rear with Friction Shocks.

I am still undecided on Spoke, Smoothie with Wide Whites or Halibrand Wheels and Old School Slicks.

It will maintain all the original character in the Cab and sheetmetal of a Chevrolet. It will use all Stained Ash wood inner structure. I will leave a majority of the interior wood exposed and it will match the wood in the bed.
