wheel size 15' or 16i inch
Hey guys im stumped ive put an set of d 52 wilwood calipers on stock 70 dics brake spindels and cross drilled rotors now my 15 in wheel rubs it ... it didn't rub with the stock disc and single piston caliber.. i can run a spacer on the back of the mag but i can see the spacer and you also lose about a 1/2 in or5/8 of thread with the spacer . i want to run 15inch tires or a 16 like old style hilbrand wide window gasser mags if i stay with a 15 who makes a good looking wheel that the off set will not rub but keep the wheel under the fender ... the wheels i have now are just to get the truck going and when i get more cash i want to buy new ... i want centerline convo pros if i can run a 15-6 front and 15-10 with an 5 or 6 inch back space so in under the rear fenders.. im not buildin a slot car ... any help would be cool
Thanks for your time.. now ill get of my soap box ... |

Re: wheel size 15" or 16" inch with pics what to choice
After talking it over with a couple of freinds and telling me i need to run 18''s
on the fornt and 20x10 on the back and get out of the 80's/90's were going to run 16"s on the truck im thinking americian torq thrust or going with an et style mag the torq style es is avalible in a 16x10 or 16x12 depending on how much back space i have run and extra wide tire with out tubbin. also the 70 rear is about an inch wider or so i can gain a little more back spacing.. any one know how much if can run a 16x12 with an 8 inch back spacing ??????? i really like the et 3's but the back spacinf is less than 3 inches un less i tub and narow rear which i do have an 9" that was in a vega!!!! if i do that then Ill put the 454 with 871 blower in the truck .. Re: wheel size 15' or 16i inch
Man, those American Racing mag style wheels are sweet! I haven't seen those before. I love the old slot mag wheels (have quite a few sets hiding around my shop and garage), and plan to use a set on my truck. Personally I wouldn't run anything bigger than a 16" wheel on my truck, and I would fight tooth and nail to keep it a 15" diameter. But for me upgraded pads and new compnents in a stock style disc brake is all I need for a daily driver/weekend street machine project. If I were in your shoes I would stash some cash for those A.R. mags....very sic!

I agree on the 15's and 16's . That the right look for these trucks. We haev these trucks to stay in the 60's don't we??
I hunted forever to find polished slots for mine. regards

I'm not a big fan of the clown shoes- I gotta have some sidewall on my tires!! Old School I guess

Although I love a set of 15's and WWW's, I think the bigger wheels can look good too. Here's a truck that sold me on 18's.

nice look but im trying to keep it old school when you get in to 18 and 19"
rims the tire are a little pricy ive got a vet that runs 18'' and 19'' and the tires run about 400 a peace .. but that is a nice look to the truck |
