I actually forgot about this truck

About 3 Years ago, I started building a 73 lwb half ton. I got the truck, literally for nothing from a buddy who moved to Colorado and had no use for a 2wd where he was going. It was a rolling shell at the time so I did what any red-blooded idiot would do, I cut it up.

It started off by getting shortened to swb specs, then it went on the road for a few months. I got drunk and bored one night and started to bag it with parts I'd been collecting to do the 79 I had at the time. Once I sobered up and fixed the drunken tack welds, I finished getting all the suspension bagged, but I didn't trust my welder to properly weld up the suspension.

So the truck has been sitting in my buddies back yard in Apache Junction since Nov of 2009 waiting for me to finish it. Well after almost 2 years of not doing anything with the truck, my buddy calls me and asks if I was ever gonna do anything with this pile of junk sitting in his yard. The last time I touched it was in March of last year when I sold the bed off it to a friend in need.

I haven't thought about this thing in over a year now... since I ran into issues with my drivers license. Now that those are sorted out, and I've been itching to work on something, I think its time to blow the dust off the 73 and get it goin.

Pics to come when I get out there and get goin on it.

Re: I actually forgot about this truck

Well I was out there today and didn't have my camera with me. The bags are all dry rotted, and there is surface rust on the frame where I ground it for the welds. And I looked at the vin tag on the door frame and its a 76. I'm trying to find the title for it cause I would of sworn it was a 73, granted I could be wrong, but I doubt it. I'll be back out to it in about 2 weeks to start cleaning it up and getting it to the welder.

So now the question is, am I gonna have to put cats on it... prolly, but I gotta find the title to make sure I'm not horribly confused.
