Is a 1989 crew cab grill a bolt in?
Will a 1989 crew cab Chevy grill bolt into any 1981-87 C10-C30, assuming you also change the matching headlight bezels?
Thanks.

you'd also have to have the radiator support

headlamps, parklamps, wiring pigtail, and lower grille filler are different as well.

Re: Is a 1989 crew cab grill a bolt in?
Wow, I hadn't thought of that. I probably don't have to remind you guys, but the crew cabs were a carry-over body style in 1988-91. Same body as the 1987 and older.
Would a 1981-1987 C10 really need a different rad support to use the crew cab grill from 1989? In other words, did the 1988-91 crew cab have a different rad support from all the other years? Here's a look at one.

Re: Is a 1989 crew cab grill a bolt in?
yes, because of the horizontal mounting of the headlights.

Re: Is a 1989 crew cab grill a bolt in?
One more telling you that you have to swap the radiator support and lower grille/bumper filler and lamp harness, then add the lamps and grille and bezels.
The first clue is the lamps going horizontal from each other instead of vertical. They have to sit in their buckets and those buckets have to sit in their indentations in the core support.

If you're able to get the whole front end, then the swap is pretty cut and dry because you'll have everything you need, you just have to splice your original headlight harness. If your only getting the grille and bezels, then you're gonna have to track down everything else.

Thanks for the information, everyone. It's good to know what to expect ahead of time.
Cheers.

That is also the same as the K5 Blazer and Suburban nose.

Yes it is. If you like that look, find an 88-91 Burb and grab the whole front clip.
