Flip kit?
Do you have to buy a flip kit? or can you flip it yourself?

Hey,... Welcome to the board.
Give us a little more info on what year truck you are working on. 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton. All the details you can. Most flip kits are rather inexpensive. Some people weld new axle saddles on the bottom side of the axle tubes. But you have to get the pinion angle correct. Production flip kits have all of the pinion angles engineered in. Plus the move the rearend slightly rearward, (to center the wheel in the wheel opening). This also allows you to use the stock driveshaft without having to shorten it. Thanks for the reply! It's an 1981 chevy silverado half ton, Has a rebuilt 350 with an auto tranny, duel fuel tanks and its Siting on 15" centerlines, everything is stock. Unfortunately i cant get any pictures of it its parked under my car port.

I used a DJM flip from summit for like $80 on my old 86. Well worth it as apposed to starting from scratch.
