Engine stop
Hi all!
New intake and outlet manifold! Happy on the test drive... ...engine stops after a 20minutes drive and will only re-start with the choke control out. As I touch the gaspedal it dies. Its a I6 230 1965. Any one that could point me in the right direction? Thanks! /2mas |

Re: Engine stop
Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak.

I've been looking for som kind of filter, but I can not find any near the fuel tank or on the fuel line. The truck is completely standard, manifolds, carb, etc. /2mas |

Removed the filter in the carb... See pic.
Fired the motor up with out filter! Works fine. Thanks for the help. Just hope that my fourth testdrive will not end with a tow. /2mas |

Re: Engine stop
2mas you need to replace the filter or clean out the old one, I haven't seen one like you have they are a cone shaped fine mesh that inserts in the fitting in any case you need to either replace it or clean it there may be more stuff lurking in the tank it will plug up the whole carburetor without it. Then you will have to take it apart and blow with air hose to get it cleaned out good luck...Vernski
