Straight Axle Conversion ... What Steering ??
In a couple of days my buddy's 2006 HD goes up on my lift to get it's useless IFS removed in favor of a straight axle out of a 3/4 ton Dodge.
It's gonna be leaf-sprung ... we have all the brackets, including the stock Dodge crossover link. Now, what to use from the steering box down to steering ?? DOM, heavy rods ends, and just bolt thru ??

Re: Straight Axle Conversion ... What Steering ??
Cant wait to see some pics, I have a 2007.5 Duramax with a 8'' and 37'', would love to do a straight axle!!!! What brackets are you guys going with?
The only suggestion I have is not to use rod ends for the street, they will wear out quickly and have a bunch of slop in them. Use the DOM but go with some older factory tie rod ends

Re: Straight Axle Conversion ... What Steering ??
Sounds like it's going to be badass when it's all done. I am going to follow this cause I have a '91 that's going to get sas swapped the right way! I was looking at ford front ends but might look into the dodge as well. Can't wait to see some pics when it's all done
