Vac. Advance Question
I need to change out my vaccum advance thingy but the screws WILL NOT BREAK LOOSE! Question one: How much difference does the vac. advance make? Question two: What are some ideas besides WD-40, swearing, and beer to break those screws loose?
P.S. What is the spark plug gap supposed to be? Thanks a ton everyone! Ro

I use Aerokroil penetrant.
Try penetrant on the screws for a while and then hit the screws using a hammer on your screw driver to jar them. Vacuum advance helps your mileage. Spark plug gap .035 for points, .045 to. .050 for HEI. Jim |

Thanks a bunch JimK! I have to make a trip to St. Louis this weekend to pick up a cycle, so I guess I better get it changed out to get all the milage I can.
