cpp front sway bar w/ power steering?
I'll call cpp on Monday but for now, anyone ever have this combination?
I don't have a whole lot of clearance. I'm assuming when the suspension hits hard, it will hit the power steering. The factory type bar has a dip right after the front mounts, the cpp one, is flat. I didn't have a factory sway bar. I have 3" drop springs and shocks so suspension travel will be limited but this seems like it's pushing it. I don't have the bar mounted to the lower control arms yet. I'm going to wait to find out what I'm doing wrong or if I have the wrong bar for this application. Any thoughts. Hopefully you get an idea from these pictures. |

Did you bolt the sway bar directly against the frame? There should be some brackets that bolt on first then the sway bar gets bolted to those. All of my stuff came out of a 75 chevy truck but it is the same concept.

Like I said though, it doesn't have the bend in the bar like yours has. Maybe that's the missing detail.? |

Where and how do you have the sway bar mounted to the lower control arm. It looks like it's connecting towards the back of the arm. Look at how John's sway bar is mounted above (on the front of the arm).

It looks like it's going towards the back of the control arm because its just sitting on top. The cpp sway bar mounts by a single hole and a single bolt on each side. Last edited by walls; 10-09-2011 at 01:52 PM. Reason: . |

It looks like the original style PS takes up alot of space in that location. It would probably fit fine if you had the later style PS. You might have to use a different type of sway bar.

I think you're right. I'm going to call cpp tomorrow. I'll post what they say just for future reference.

They said, doesn't look like it will work.
I said, no kidding. Oh well. At least they'll let me return it. I guess I need to start a new thread. Factory PS + sway bar? |
