Post pics of your 5 LUG wheels!!!!
I am in the process of converting my truck to five lug. The suburban donor I have has 5 lug rally wheels on it. I have the front in my truck and the rallys on it. They look ok, but ive never been a huge fan of ralleys on these trucks. I thought about trying to find some 5 lug steelies that will accept a hub cap, but I cant decide. What 5 lug wheels do you have? Pics please and where you found them!

Re: Post pics of your 5 LUG wheels!!!!
I’ve run a variety of 5 lug wheels on my 1960 GMC over the years. Here are a few photos showing the different styles:
Close up of 15x6 stock steel disc brake hubcap wheel: 15x6 stock steel disc brake hubcap wheels: Close up of 15x6 Corvette style rally wheel with police car hubcap. Powder coating them black was kind of stupid because the slots disappear when mounted on the truck: 15x6 and 15x8 Corvette style rally wheels with police car hubcaps: 15x6 and 15x8 Weld Wheel Draglites: Mid 50’s 15x6.5” Buick rims on the rear with early Dragmaster 5 spokes up front: Same Corvette style rally wheels shown above, repainted silver with derby caps: American Racing TTO’s, 15x5 up front with 15x7 on the rear: 15x7 TTO’s all around: |

Re: Post pics of your 5 LUG wheels!!!!
All of my 5 lug wheels are 5x5” bolt pattern. The rally wheels were sourced from Early Wheel in San Jose California around 1997. Most of the aftermarket wheel suppliers now carry this type and size wheel including Summit Racing, although you might have to shop around if you want a specific size:
http://www.earlywheel.com/products.h...ng-information http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-55-5773/ Depending on which disc brakes you have, there is a potential problem with running police car caps on these wheels (on the front of the truck). If you have the 1” light duty rotors, the spindle pin is shorter and the wheels and caps fit fine. If you’re running the 1.25” rotors (like I am), the spindle pins stick out too far and the hubcaps collide with the dust covers on the rotors, and won’t seat on the wheels. The solution is to flatten the end of the dust cover. I put each dust cover in a bench vise, with a large socket inserted into the cap. I then closed the vise until the end of the dust cap was flattened against the base end of the socket. Once flattened, the dust caps clear the hubcap just fine. Care must me taken to insure the dust cap does not touch the end of the spindle or the cotter pin, or it will chew away at the inside of the dust cap and ruin the outer bearing. It’s not very hard to make them fit correctly. With derby caps there are inches of clearance no matter which brakes are installed. |

My '62 is converted to 5lug. 5on5. I'm running "Smoothies" on it now, used to run TTII's... The '65 is still 6lug... with Corvette style rally's...

Re: Post pics of your 5 LUG wheels!!!!
My wheels are cragars, 17" X 9" front and rear....5X 43/4"-----I had changed everything over to 5X5 already had the wheels then realized they were the wrong lug pattern, drilled everything for 4 3/4 worked just fine.
only problem the rear tires are such a large diameter that we are having to move the rear axle back 1.5" will get that done soon. Kieth http://kieth.smugmug.com/Trucks/66-G..._RGs9Wb7-X2-LB |

I got them from an old board vendor. I recall they were around $40-50 each.

Re: Post pics of your 5 LUG wheels!!!!
Mine are 15x7 front & 15x8 rear truck rallye's powdercoated black with a trim ring that is not as big as the standard "wide" style. I had to use what I had, as cast American TTO's will be the next step.
