Dash Cluster Question - Separate Light W/Leads
So I feel like a moron because I usually make sure to document or photograph everything as I disassemble, but I screwed up yesterday.
In removing the gauge cluster from my '87 V30 and this little light bulb was plugged into one of the dash warning locations, I am thinking it was the SES light, but I honestly have no clue. It is the only light on its own wire leads (not part of the printed circuit wiring. Can anyone help me find this little light's home? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Dash Cluster Question - Separate Light W/Leads
Is it maybe the 4x4 light? I know in my Sub, the SES is NOT separately wired, and I thought the 4x4 one was the one with separate wiring.

Re: Dash Cluster Question - Separate Light W/Leads
That's a good point. It would only be the SES light if you have a seperate indicator between the speedo and fuel gauge at the top of the bezel.... I don't believe the R/V series had that. Pretty sure it was added into the cluster at that point....

Think it's the 4wd indicator.

Re: Dash Cluster Question - Separate Light W/Leads
Not disagreeing with those that posted but my factory wiring manual says the 4wd indictor lamp circuit has a black and a white wire coming off the T/C switch. Black to the 6 terminal grd buss and white to the bulb socket. The black wire from the bulb socket goes to a "B" hot in accsy start and run in the upper fuse block.
Upon going over the ECM Outputs page it shows a PNK/BLK coming from the Check Engine Lamp Driver Connector with a splice going to the Check Engine Eng LP - but it does not show a lamp on the page. Posted via Mobile Device

I did test it by putting the truck into 4WD and the bulb did not activate. I will continue testing once I get the new radiator installed... Thank you for the responses so far everyone! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Dash Cluster Question - Separate Light W/Leads
it's for the 4X4
i have both my 79 and 88 in front of me and the only socket empty is the 4X4 both but just check the main harness plug, doubt there would be "wires"leading to the copper path to that spot

Re: Dash Cluster Question - Separate Light W/Leads
Weird thing is, I've traced all circuits on the copper board and both the SES and the 4WD have leads...there is not dead plugs in the cluster..
