i have a 65 c10m and what to clean all the gunk and grime of the front the truck with remove all the big part . should i buy and little pume would work any ther ideas

when i cleaned mine i used a putty knife to get the big stuff off and then used oven cleaner and a pressure washer! it worked for the most part, then i used a wire wheel to clean the rest! theres other ways of doing it but thats what i did!

I recently brought my truck to a detailing shop and had them put it on a lift and steam clean the entire undercarriage. Cost me $50. I am sure that you could talk them into doing any parts you wanted for not a lot.

i have used i think it is called something purple. worked really good. got it at wallmart for like $4 a gallon. helps alot if you can get a pressure washer also.

...castrol "super clean".... Use gloves it is caustic (removes skin) & eye protection!!! Let it soak on the hard stuff & rent a pressure washer & clean it up!!!....good luck.

probably Purple Power...i have some of that, as well as Simple Green...i did the same process as "chad64chevy" on my front suspension/frame

Start with castrol Super clean, available at walmart, along with gloves, safety glasses or face shield and an assortment of stiff nylon bristled brushes and assorted scrapers.
once the big chunks are off, pressure wash, then brush remaining bits of remaining gunk with aforementioned castrol super clean and assorted brushes. Pressure wash again. some paint may be removed during these processes, if the idea is to get down to bare metal then the use of oven cleaner will accomplish that. if using oven cleaner by all means spend the money for the good stuff (not the dollar store junk). And follow all safety precautions on the can.

Rinse, lather, repeat. Stop when frame has been cleaned to the point your happy.

I use the stuff called Oil Eater that is sold in five gal jugs at Costco. It seems to work pretty well. Also, If your going to use oven cleaner, by all means keep it away from anodized alum trim. It'll wreck it in seconds.

Watch out where you do it, this residue will stain your Asphalt or worse yet your Concrete Paving Stones and could yellow your grass. Do it at your parents house, it'll give them something else to be disappointed in you for but will continue to love you. Purple Power is bio degradable.

And for rusty bolts and cleaning metal parts a product that works better than WD40 is Kroil. I love this stuff.

I've used about everything from gasoline to dish detergent. I find it's usually as much about technique as anything, and a bunch of elbow grease. I keep assortment of brushes, bristle, wire, etc. from stiff, to cheap paintbrushes cut down to 1" or so, sometimes I'll wrap masking tape around the metal part if I'm doing like interior plastic or such I don't wanna scratch. I frequently use the local carwash for larger portable stuff.

I always use the local carwash.I don't think my parents could be any more disappointed than they already are.I needed new folks to disappoint.

I use a degreaser(usually "Right Stuff') and most of the same as above.I have found the main ingredient to the clean recipe is PERSERVERANCe.It takes time and effort to really get one clean.

I use simple green an purple power usually an they work good, I like simple green better. I've also used "power foam" from ams oil to clean up my motor, its more spendy but worked better, and you can also spray inside your motor to clean it out when its running.

what is affordable is purple power.. i buy it 5 gallons at a time now and put it into a pump up sprayer and my pressure washer.

on a cooler (not frozen) day apply every twenty minutes to get a dang good soak.. then pressure wash the crap outta everything.

POR Marine Clean works better than anything I have ever used. It is like Simple Green x 1000. Simple green is great for maintenance, but it doesnt touch 40 yr old caked on junk.
