Installing Oil Pressure Sending Unit on your LS swap? LOOK HERE!
found this nice little part today that replaces the oil cooler block off plate. just ordered it. i am running a '91 Suburban sending unit with 1/4 NPT so it will need to be drilled & tapped.
it is the one farthest to the left. i started with the one far right, but it was difficult to drill straight and tap, & now i have a seeping leak from it. it was also too close to the manifold IMO. and sticks straight out. this is much cleaner looking. Far Left. 97-2000 Corvette Part Number 12551587 Comes already drilled and with a metric thread M12 x 1.5 Drill out the metric thread using a 7/16" drill Tap 1/4 pipe thread. Centre Fbody (No Longer available from GM new**) Part Number 12551595 Comes blank (not drilled and no thread) **Part superceded by 12577903 Right Part Number 12577903 Comes blank (not drilled and no thread) (not my picture, but here's how it looks installed.)

nice find. I drilled and tapped since I already had the piece, but it IS really hard to get straight.

I just take the stock oil pressure sending unit out of the block and get a Autometer 2268 ( i think thats the number, got it at home) and put the manual gauge in there.
PCM doesnt use the oil pressure to control anything so its not needed.

I left that one connected since my harness had a provision for it; only thing it really gets you is the ability to see the oil pressure reading on certain obdII devices; even though the computer doesn't use the readout for anything.

Doesn't the ECM cut power at low pressure? If not, it should...

Hm, seems it would be easy enough for GM to do. Made sense in my brain. Oh well...

well my gauges are electric. a complete cluster from a 91 burban. using the 91 burban sending unit. figured the newest design would be the most accurate (besides mech)
