'85 engine harness?
Does anyone know where I can get a new engine harness? The wires inside the cab look great, but would like to replace the harness that comes from the firewall behind the fuse block. I could splice and rewire that way, but some of the connecters look bad.
Thanks for the help! |

Re: '85 engine harness?
Are you running a cabureted engine? If so maybe the 1981 and 1982 wiring harness will be the same as the '85.
I ordered my engine wiring harness for my 1981 chevy from www.wiringharness.com I think it is the same harness but dont quote me on that. Mine should be in next week. Before you order one I can take pictues of mine so that you can check it out. p.s. here is a link to there catalog if your interested... http://wiringharness.com/PDFS/TRU_2011_Chevy_Truck.pdf

Re: '85 engine harness?
Thanks for reply guy's! Yes it is carburated, w/AC, electric fan. The one I have is not that bad, but since I have everything torn apart, and trying to replace as much as I can, I assumed it would be nice to have new connecters for everything. Would like to eliminate some of the wires to clean up the harness, may just cut, spice new wire. Wanting extra wire in order to hide some of it, but concerned about voltage drop on the extended wire.
I have to engine harness out at the moment in order to paint the firewall. I will look at it closer for any defects. Hazieview: Let me know what you think about the harness. I was reading this site last night on the complete set it offers, but wasn't sure if it had everything. Please let me know when you get a chance about how complete it is. Not a bad price if it has everything you need. Last edited by coater; 11-25-2011 at 01:33 AM. |
