Any recommendations on carbs? I am rebuilding the engine for my 72 Blazer... 350 with AT. Looking for good performance but also reliability.....

I second the 1406. I've had mine on for a week or two now and I have no regrets. Oh boy do I love the electric choke! lol

i hate my 1406. it'a picky piece o crap. i think i got a bad one though. i'm more partial to q-jets. i would recommend one if you don't want to tune a q-jet though. they are decent.

I had a bad one too, I guess it's just the luck of the draw. I've always had good luck with Holleys, I'm running them in 2 of my vehicles now.

Carter AFB. Some Edelbrocks are Carters, but I'm not sure about the 1405 listed. If you can't have injection, this is the best way to go. Easily tuned.

I've never had any problems with my 1406, but if I could afford EFI, I'd have it on my 350.

I vote for 1406. I have one and it even says CARTER on the side. It is some what of a lean design though. If you want more CFMs the next model up would be a better choice.

If you want the best performance and dont mind adjusting / messing with it to get it just right - Q Jet.
If you want decent gas mileage and just put it on and don't mess with it - Edelbrock 1406 (w/ .098 primary).

Just went and bought another Holley this morning. I have the Truck Avenger but have never got it to run right. Holley said to send it back and they would send me a new Street Avenger. The one I got this morning is to hold me over till I get the new one.
