Attn: Keith Seymore;VIN Question
Keith:
My Prefix VIN for my 77 Sport is: CCL447. My questions applies to the 4th diget. (4) which is the Series. GM book does not give info on what the "4" means. It gives 1 = 10 2 = 20 3 = 30 Series. Would 4 perhaps apply to shortbed series or maybe big 10 H/D chassis?? Thanks in advance. Larry |

Re: Attn: Keith Seymore;VIN Question
From what I remember the 4 indicates 1/2 ton with heavy duty suspension.....they may have put the change in the vin to establish a different emission control package.
Your SPID should show hd springs or suspension;also your gvw rating. OK Keith ...am I on the right track? |

Re: Attn: Keith Seymore;VIN Question
according to my GM parts books a "4" is 10 series with RPO F44, pickup models only.
F44 is Chassis, heavy duty
