I am getting ready to install my cpp lowering coil kit in my 1964. It is a 3/4 drop do I need to relocate the shock brackets on the back? And also if anyone has helpful hints they would be appreciated

I'm pretty sure I relocated my shock mounts. I used 4" coils in the rear.

I would recommend buying a new set of U-bolts before you get into it. I had to air chisel mine off.

There was no way they were coming off and being re-used. I tried penetrating oil, heat, BFH, etc..

Since I already started the work, the truck ended up being out of commission while I waited to get the proper bolts. By the way, there aren't any auto parts stores that stock the right diameter.

Ok rear done very easy install, I dont think im going to relocate the shock. Now on to the front......I have heard horror stories about being able to align the truck after dropping with just springs. Is this true? should i just buy the dropped spindles?

Not sure about the front, but I am interested to hear how it goes, im in summerfield so im only a few minutes down the road from you, I also have a 64 and I have the brothers 3/4 drop with swaybars.

I did 3" in the front and had no problems with getting it aligned. It rides slightly stiff but way better than my old worn out springs.

ive been running 3" lower coils only in the front with my wheels aligned fine - though over the course of the last year as a daily my fronts have begun to wear outside on both sides - really they just didnt drop me at all far enough otherwise i would just stay with them and drums but i want lower so Im about to grab the drop spindle/disc kit from Speedway - which from everything i can tell is the cpp kit
