Ditto on Carter, very good pumps and they are adjustable to fit just about any kind of fuel line routing.

That sounds extremely cheap...my mech Carter pump was like $40 from Summit. I am not sure what kind of Carter pump it is, but just remember you get what you pay for and $12 seems waaay to cheap for a pretty important part such as a fuel pump.

I agree that's why I'm wanting the part number before buying. If it's the same part number as Summit's and brand new then I'm jumping on it.

Sounds like a knock off. Ask them for Carter's part number M6900 This is their own number for a SBC.

I'm sure the new fuel pump will work fine. Don't get a rebuilt one though. They're more prone to failure. I just need something to replace mine since I've got the return line blocked off I want to get rid of that.

Hey 79BIG10, You say you have the third line blocked......Have you had any problems with vapor lock since you did it? I have a problem with it esp. around were you live and down around Houston. That third line just ain't helping me at all. Good advice on the rebuilt pump too. I don't know why they even offer rebuilt pumps...they fail real quick. |

Ya i just got done putting it in today man those pumps are a pain that dang rod wouldnt stay up i finnaly got it in and it seems to run a little better. also someone who put the old fuel pump on used silicone man anyone knows gas and silicone dont mix. I also put a new oil filter and oil in i have to check it tommorow and see if that was where i was getting the gas smell. i would have to say it was part of it.
