Chrome grill??

So I have an 88 gmc crewcab dually and I hate the grill. I want to put the 87 Chevy grill on it. First question is, will it mount up ok? Second question, can I get that grill in chrome somewhere?

Re: Chrome grill??

Re: Chrome grill??

Ok, well ill take the help!! I dont see why you would have to change the core support. It's an 88 gmc, its the same dimensions as the chevy counterpart. The mouldings and headlight bezels share the same part numbers for chevy and gmc. So the grills are at least the same size, I cant imagine they could be that different to mount. Please 85 tell me how you can help.....

Re: Chrome grill??

The grille is interchangeable. All you have to do is find an 85-88 chevy grille and swap it out with your GMC one.

On the chrome grille, i'm assuming you want the whole plastic piece chrome? if so, i don't think those are offered anywhere. if you really want one, you could send one off to get plated...

Re: Chrome grill??

dont need to change the radiator support, unless you wanted 89-91 Blazer/Sub. I put an 87 grille on my 82, I was told I had to change the rad support but I absolutely didnt have to. I havent moved the park/turn lights up yet form the bumper, but when I do I'll just have to clearance the area right behind the park lamps. Dont really need to, but it makes it much easier to change the bulbs if they fail. Thinking about just cutting a hole with a 3 inch hole saw.

I actually am replacing the 87 grill soon with an 88 from my parts Blazer. It's got extra chrome trim all over it, looks way fancier than the regular 87 I have. If you look them over, you might find the extra chrome trim is what you want. Check out LMCTruck, they've got everything. They even have chrome headlight bezels, which look awesome. Little rich for my blood right now, but I will have some someday.

I actually have used them for some Camaro and Chevelles I have built, and they do fantastic work. As far as prices go, in chrome work you get what you pay for.
