hey guys can u put a wood bed in a truck that came org with steel floor iam getting a 72 super short box next week and was thinking of putting a wood bed in it is the posable ???? with out to much work ?????

Not without a lot of work. The cross sills and front panel are different. I would just buy one that lays on top the steel floor from Bruce Horkey.

Yep, it's a lot of work but some things are worth doing the right way. For the same price of a Show Deck ($1135 plus shipping) you can get the full conversion kit from Mar-K and do it the right way. Get their Wood Bed Conversion kit ($441) which includes front panel and all cross sills. Their oak wood kit with polished strips is $716. Together $1157 total. Mar-K will have no-shipping-price specials. I waited for the special and bought the complete kit. I'm very happy with the end result.

So using a Horkey's kit is the "wrong" way?

I guess that's a matter of opinion. As far as I'm concerned Horkey's is the wrong way.

You can drop in Horkeys for a nice look, and still pull it out when you need a steel floor to haul something. The best of both worlds. Plus Horkeys has more wood to choose from than oak or pine. I don't see how that is wrong

I shouldn't have said it was wrong when really its just an alternative. So, do you want a wood bed or wood bed look? I personally would never go faux.

Horkeys is not faux, it is real wood. It is just removeable as opposed to permanent.

That would be so awesome to do a newer say 2010 2011 silverado truck with the horky style kit. Talk about getting looks.
