well I saw this and had to have it. I have no idea why. Wife thinks I am homer simpson, instead of donuts its vehicles. Anyways its rusted out but original, 67 cst with a 327/th400. runs good for the most part. Going to drive it as is but I need some help. I have no real brakes until the pedal is half way pressed and boom, the tires (front I think?)damn near lock up. Its like its getting its pressure all at once. The PO did some major work on the ALL drum brakes, mostly everything has been replaced but there is a huge problem, so... he said that it needed a new proportioning valve....well I didn't think all drums had such a thing, but sure enough they have a distribution block. So I am guessing this is what he is speaking of. He said the master cyl and booster were replaced about a year ago and the drums/ shoes/ hardware are all new. I think there was a new hose or two on the receipts. Theres good resistance on the pedal when you start to push down and the feel of the pedal is good, its just you have no real brakes until about half way down the they will lock up if you dont take your time. Can't drive it that way on the snow and ice so I need some help.
Also, the 327 has a stock 4 barrel manifold with a bad rochester on it, will a spare carter afb bolt on?
and some pics
