Brake bleeding sequence, all 4 drum brakes.

Seasons greetings. I have just replaced all new drum, cyl's, springs and linings. The vehicle is a 1966 gmc 1/2ton p/up. It has a single port master feeding all 4 wheels. ? what is the wheel sequence for bleeding. Enjoy the holidays, Thanks.

The rule book says RR, LR, RF, LF. I say if its plumbed like a 67-72 bleed the LR first because it is actually the furthest away. Then the RR, RF and LF. Then go around and do it again until you feel like you have all the air out.

concur with 2nd approach - i.e. I normally start at RR, then work around like yuou descibed. No idea if that's right, but works for me! I always used the same rule - furthest from the master cyl to closest.

The "rule of thumb" has always been to simply look the system over, find and start with the wheel cylinder fartherst away from the master, then, the next closer, finishing with the closest to the master, wheel cylinder.

Hi Thanks for your opinions. I believe I have it done properly. Won't know for sure till spring when I take it for a spin. Until then I will continue to do the other things that need doing. Thanks again.
