Bolts
I'm bolting the front suspension crossmember back into my truck, i have been searching for new hardware, but has anyone used the old ones?
Mine i assume are Grade 8, they are in very good shape, no damage or rust, they are grimmy. I was just wondering, as they don't make bolts like they used to, these are probably good for another 40 years with some clean up and paint. What do ya think? This won't be a DD or a show truck.

Re: Bolts
I get all new hardware from Ace. They have everything in grade 8 in every type of bolt you can imagine. It's such a minimal expense that I know I would never have to worry about.

Re: Bolts
Good point. we (my work) bought out a True Value hardware store 4 years ago, and got all the hardware, i sold alot of it, but kept the grade 5 and some 8 stuff for my build. Unfortuantly the grade 8 stuff is to big and long for the engine cradle. Guess i need to bite the bullet.

Re: Bolts
Cleaning it up for re-use is fine.

Re: Bolts
Went over and just spent $30 on new bolts and locking nuts. DAMN!!! lol The rest of the bolts are coming out of my grade 5 stash. Well except for the leafs and stuff, those will be large grade 8.
