Be careful re-organizing the pics in your photobucket or other pic server!
I thought it would be a good idea to tidy up my photobucket account so I could keep my truck, mustang and camaro pics in order. When I did that, my "direct link" addresses changed and now I have ZERO pics on my build thread!!! Thought I'd throw it out there so someone else doesn't make the same mistake.

Good point, i am surprised they don't keep the same Id's? That would be hard to fix your links manually one by one.

We have asked folks to use the gallery here for years, for just that reason. I hate that it happened. Just think, say you made a post that is a FAQ, its now gone as well. Using photobucket and other hosting sites seriously messes with the flow of things when pics get moved.

Its a bummer when photos get messed up here when you are looking at build threads of fac threads. I always post mine in the sites gallery. Its free, unlimited (i think lol) and you can post up pretty good sized pics if you want.

Re: Be careful re-organizing the pics in your photobucket or other pic server!
Well being the smarty pants that I am, I realized that I can go and right click on each missing pic and then hit "properties". It will still tell me the old link to the missing pic and the last part is the pic name. I'll be able to piece it back together in no time. WHEW!!!!
Gunna use the gallery this time!!! |

Yeah, I made a post about this a while back. All the loyal P/B user blasted me for speaking ill of it. If you host them here, they don't go away. If you have a free account on P/B they occasionally change the url to kill links that rob resources.

You didn't notice the box that popped up telling you that it will break any links you have on other websites? Photobucket warns me everytime I try to move a pic. That's why I never move them.
