Re: some axle ?

The older Lincoln 9" rears prob had 3.00 gears. They're alot harder to come by vs just buying some replacement 5-lug axles & swapping them into your current rear-end.

The 12-bolt from a 73 will be slightly wider than the current 6-lug (.750 each side 1.50" total width increase). Not to difficult to overcome, but something else to keep in mind.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: some axle ?

The versailles/granada gear ratios was 2.48:1, 2.58:1, and 2.75:1 and its 58.50 inches wide. And the 28 spindle axles in them can't be shorten so if the axle isn't the right size pass on it.
