1972 Shortbox Rolling Chassis
I have a 1972 shortbox rolling chassis. It has some slight surface rust but no rot or scale. It is a coil sprung rear chassis. It has a 12 bolt minus gears just the carrier. 5 lug disc brakes. It has an auto crossmember with a 1 piece drive shaft. It is rolling on 8" truck rallys. Stock height all four corners. The trailing arms have no rust. The frame is straight. There are a few quarter sized holes blown through on the rear horns for a hitch. I have the title and vin plate. This is an original shortbox frame not a cut down longbox frame. It also comes with alot of extra misc. parts.
I'm asking $550 or offer. No shipping. Pick up only unless you arrange to have it shipped. If you have any questions please ask within the thread. No pm's until someone says I'll take it. I will post pics when I can get it out in the daylight. thanks.

Re: 1972 Shortbox Rolling Chassis
Well I just pulled it out of the garage. Something on the front end looked funny so I got the tape out and it looks like the front end has taken a bit of a hit towards the passenger side. I just bought this in October to use for a project truck and I'm very mad at myself for not measuring before I purchased it. I went to school for body and chassis repair so you would think that I would practice what I learned. Any way it is still for sale but with the stipulation that I will no longer include the title or vin plate and sell as is. It is still a rust free frame with rust free parts. I'm not in the business of screwing people. It's bad business.
The new price is $350 and if it doesn't generate any traffic I will keep to use the parts on a future truck. Thanks

Re: 1972 Shortbox Rolling Chassis
How far out of whack is the frame? Since you have experience, my guess is you don't think its possible to get it back into alignment?
thanks Dave |

Re: 1972 Shortbox Rolling Chassis
I'll take it, but first I would like to get some measurements from you on how bad the frame is tweaked...
Thanks, Dave |

Re: 1972 Shortbox Rolling Chassis
Because I haven't transfered the title yet and it wouldn't be cost effective for me to transfer the title and then lose the money on the sale. I would have transfered the title if it had not been bent and closer to the $550 mark. I wont jump title so I will just shred it.

I can get you some measurments tomorrow. I measured from back to front in a X and it is off an inch +/- some 16ths. I will remeasure at different locations to see if it is just the front that is bent but also that the frame doesn't have a rail pushed back.
