If it's cheap enough. Not a real sought after item. The cowl mounted booster is seen more often. This was an add on for someone who would have wanted a little assistance. Don't get me wrong, the one on my truck will lock up the wheels with little effort. Found mine in an old GMC dealership new in the box for $10.00. The guy just wanted to get rid of it. Only later did I find out that 63 Chevrolet had their own version.

Re: strange braking system? What is this? Factory or aftermarket?

Once again great info and pics. Thanks.

So I would not need it. Do you think I could pass it on to someone who would want it? Would it be worth $100 to someone? More? Less?

Thanks again.

Re: strange braking system? What is this? Factory or aftermarket?

If it's complete I might be interested...although I'm not sure how much it's worth. I have a '65 C20 as well so it might be the easiest way to add some power without having to find the original setup. Let me know if you decide to go back and get it...

Re: strange braking system? What is this? Factory or aftermarket?

I'd put it on any truck, great conversational piece and works well. That's if you don't mind being different than everyone else. You don't have to work very hard to mount it. Though they are the wrong mounting brackets. The original bracket mounts it to the angled part of the inner fender only. Someone went overboard during the installation. There's no external force pushing against it, it simply boosts the hydraulic pressure.

I still have the original installation pages. Yep, 26 years later and still have them. Have the original GMC box as well. lol do I need a life!

That's cool! I'd run one to be different if I could get my hands on it! I think I saw one in a friends old Merc bone yard, gonna have to go talk to him. It's not exactly what I'm looking for, but it is really cool.

My suburban came with one and I didn't know what it was, thought it was some aftermarket deal so I threw it out.

I can't hardly believe it!! I had never seen one of these and now found another.

I went to a very obscure yard last week and found this one in a truck.

What year truck is this?
The brake master cylinder has two lines coming out of it.

I have one of those power brake systems on my C20.....should I really put some grease in those zirk fittings that are on the system? Thanks!

They used the hydraulic clutch until 62 in the light duty trucks
