OR Nice chevy tailgate

Chevy tailgate in very nice condition. It has 5 dings (circled with a sharpie hard to see) the size of a nickel. It was removed shortly after it was new for a double door canopy and stored ever since. It does have many scratches from handling over the years. It was rat holed in my barn many years ago for my 72 Super project. It is nicer than the pic shows because it has cob webs and dirt on it from sitting. I just bought a truck today with a perfect box and gate to use instead. There is no bow or rust. It has the bottom of a pivot pocket cut out to make it quick release (see pic). This would be a easy fix to cut out of a donor gate and weld in. I would even provide the piece. 450.00 plus shipping.

The lowest I could go is 350.00 plus shipping. Shipping would be about 85.00 which includes a wooden box to insure a safe damage free ride. This gate has to be worth the money. Anything less I would be forced to keep it for a futher build as I could not replace it for that.

The shipping cost via UPS is 82.84 plus 15.00 for materials to build the box. I really need to net a minimum of 350.00. I'll cover the cost of the box. Or you could arrange your own shipping. The box w-gate weighs 105 lbs and is 69" x 24" x 6". I do appreciate your offers.

Hey Tom, let me check today on getting it shipped. $85 sounds reasonable to me. I don't know if I can get it shipped any cheaper but I'll check. Question: that quick change method (section removed) does that show when the gate is closed and would that cause the gate to rattle or move around? I'm back and forth on it. The tailgate looks good. I'm just concerned about the quick change. Thanks for all the info on the measurements and weight. Pete

The "cut out" is not seen from the outside. I don't think the cut out would cause a rattle. Personally, I would weld in a piece. Thanks, Tom

Yes, it is the RH side. I shy away from paypal do the fees. Most members will send as personal to avoid the fees. If so yes. Otherwise a check in the mail would be best.

OK Tom, I'm gonna try to crack you one more time. I'll have to admit your a tough egg... $425.00 I can paypal you and I'll pay the fees or I can send you a check or MO. which ever you prefer. I'll agree, the gate is well worth what your asking for it. But, I still have to repair the section cut out. LOL, I can be tough sometimes. I suppose on this one I'm a bit tougher than normal. I'm torn between keeping it for the wifes 68 or do I sell it and use a gate that's not as nice. I'll do the deal. I can use the funds to help the project keep moving. Thanks, Tom

That's why I was back and forth on yours. Should I buy this one or fix the other. Its going to be a few months before I get my truck back together. More than likely I'm gonna have that gate fixed. It only has a dent here and there in it. I'm gonna take some before and after pics and resale it along with a bunch of other stuff I bought. Tom, I got the tail gate. Hey, anyone ever buys a part from this guy, beleive me he knows how to get a piece ready for shipment. Thank you Tom, I know that took some time. And if your like me, we never count the time and effort we spend on getting these parts ready to ship, take it to the shipper. I just want tou to know I really appreciate the time and effort you spent boxing. And most of all Not charging me extra for it.
