WIW: 65' Wrecker
I found some time this past weekend to go check out some leads I have. I ran across a 65' wrecker in pretty decent shape for sale. I made a deal with the guy and I am going back this weekend to pick it up. I have been searching for some idea of what this thing might be worth either in parts or as a whole, I have a fair idea of what it would bring across the scales. It does not currently run, but the PO said he drove it in and parked it a few years ago. It's a big back window with the custom trim, and a straight 6, the interior is in nice shape for the age. I know condition is everything, the body and bed are clean, faded paint, but not a lot of rust jumping out at you everywhere. Looking it over I wondered if it was always a local truck and didn't see a lot of miles, it kind has that look to it. It may be difficult to judge without pics, so I will work on those this weekend after I get it home. I have delt with 67'-72' stuff primarily, so I am really looking for a direction on this one.

Re: WIW: 65' Wrecker
I think it would pull more money running, maybe like $1200. I love it wish it was closer. Are you planning on selling it, or doing a resto.

Thanks, not sure what the plan for it is yet. Not sure I need another project right now, but I have thought about it. Greg

Re: WIW: 65' Wrecker
I'd say it's worth about $2,500-3,000 running. It probably doesn't run because of this crap we have to use instead of gas that doesn't last more than a few months but costs 3x as much as good old gasoline.

Re: WIW: 65' Wrecker
IT LIVES!!!.............well kinda. I hooked a battery up to it, replaced the fan that someone borrowed along the way and it will kick over and try to run with a little gas poured in the carb. I unhooked the gas line so it wouldn't try to suck any old gas from the tank. I think it would run with a little tlc. Greg
