91 GMC Crew Cab&Chassis
Well i have been lurking around here for a while and now have a few questions of my own. I bought a 89 v3500 awhile back for 600 bucks and planned on bringing it back to life. Found it on craigslist of course right up the road from me, the kid said it was running and then just quit driving it and then some time later tried to get it back going and they couldnt get it running. Long story short replaced temp switch, oil pressure switch and finally the fuel pump in left hand tank with no luck. Messed around with it a few more days and found schematics of electrical system around here and found two connectors swapped back at the fuel tank so got here running. Started tearing down and there was dirt everywhere as the truck was used on a big ranch down here, needless to say dirt moisture and salt air did a number on it and just about every hidden area is rusted through. The worst of it came from the clearance lamps on top letting in water and rusted the driverside cowl area almost all the way out. Fast forward to last week found a 91 gmc r3500 up around lake travis for a real good price and it has ZERO rust in it anywhere. Question is, is the cab and chassis frame the same as the regular crew cab long bed frame where i can take the service bed off and bolt on a long bed and all of the four wheel drive parts. Thanks in advance guys.
