Fuel leak on diverter valve vent
I have fuel leaking out of the vent tube on the fuel diverter valve on the wife's 85 Silverado. Is my valve bad or is there another possibility why there is fuel coming out? It doesn't do it with the key on, only while running. BTW, it's fuel injected with TPI now.

Re: Fuel leak on diverter valve vent
Here's an older picture of her with the 10 bolt and DANA 44 wearing 33's and an old rusty rear bumper. Now she has a DANA 60 up front and a 14 bolt out back with the NP205 Transfer Case. We went with Weld wheels 17X10 and BFG ALL TERRAIN 35's. New pics to follow...

Re: Fuel leak on diverter valve vent
If you're using the original '85 carb version of the fuel switching valve, it is not designed to handle the higher pressures required of a FI setup. You may investigate whether the 87 model valve (FI that year) is rated to handle the additional fuel pressure.

Re: Fuel leak on diverter valve vent
The fuel pump isn't "in tank" but is in-line after the tanks on the frame rail for that reason. I'm headed out to go replace it now. Not sure why else fuel would leak from the vent tube?

Re: Fuel leak on diverter valve vent
Thanks man! I've got the old one off and I'm getting ready to install the new one now with new hoses and clamps as they are 27 years old.
