exhaust tips and exits

Could you all post some pics where your exhaust exits? (not stock)
My truck has duel dumped right before the rear end. I'm getting tired of that sound bouncing off the floor.. So anyone got any cool looking ideas of where to put it? (before rear tire, after, under bumper exc..)

Re: exhaust tips and exits

Just had the pipes put on. Was sick of my Thrush mufflers dumped under the bed making all kinds of racket inside the truck while trying to listen to music or having a convo. Night/day difference and better tone with the pipes.

Here are acouple pics, on is the 91 Silverado that I had and th eother is my 84 GMC. I also have the same basic setup on my 2011 truck. The Megs tips take up little room and work so well.

Re: exhaust tips and exits

this is what I did with my tips, had them in a couple different spots until I did this I like the look of the side exit behind the tire but ruined a bunch of tips over the years since the tires flings rocks and junk at them

sorry for the poor quality of the pictures only had my phone on me and the lighting sucked

Re: exhaust tips and exits

you can barely see mine peaking out from the bottem. im ordering 2 more 45 bends to get it come out right before the rear wheels. right now it resonates like hell just off of idle and while cruising the freeway

I want to run my duels out in front of the tires on each side with chrome tips. Anybody got that setup?

Re: exhaust tips and exits

I've got mine just like stock, except it comes out on both sides. I like it for trucks that are going more stock or rugged look. Plus, it's a lot easier to give ricers an earful of what a real engine and exhaust sounds like.
But, for a more show style truck tips would be nice.

Sorry for tread jacking, I will make up for it when I get my exhaust mounted and post some pics!

Allchevy, do you have any picture of how your bedcover is set up around the rollbar/lightbar? Im geting one made for my truck and need ideas how to go around the pipes and how to mount it so it doe´s not sag and leak in that area.

No I don't. My son is borrowing the truck right now, if he comes out this weekend I will take some pictures.

Mine is post #423. You can see where mine exits on the top picture. Three Dynomax 3" mandrel bent 45 elbows per side. I also made a dual hump trans crossmember out of two.
