How about some roll bar photos
What happened to the roll bar craze? I guess now people call them light bars now but it seems to me back in the 80's, a roll bar was a must on a stepside. I dont see them very much anymore. Got an photos as I am thinking about one on my 83

Re: How about some roll bar photos
I too, realize they only support lights and whatever I tie down in the bed, but they are rollbars! light bars mount to bumpers and clip onto drip rails.
Besides if I wanted protection i wouldnt have a roll bar I'd have a rollcage. They are roll-bars and I will call them roll-bars. light-bar sounds so weak and lame. I severely miss the roll-bar I had on my old 77. I want one for my current truck but funds have been diverted elsewhere for kids and house stuff but maybe hopefully one day i will have one. I love em. they're functional ( as light holders and are GREAT tie downs for tall loads. The rollbar that came stock on my 77 chevy sport. |

Re: How about some roll bar photos
Bought this rollbar for my dad right after he bought this new in 1976. I still have this truck.
My 1977 I bought new.

Re: How about some roll bar photos
Here's a sad picture of my K20 when it had a roll bar on it! The tow truck got blown around like a sailboat for the entire 120 mile trip home.

Re: How about some roll bar photos
Might try Folbeck 4WD, Custom Truck Accessories and Summit in Reno.

Re: How about some roll bar photos
truckrollbar.com does have some nice stuff, but very expensive. I printed out the photo of the double bar that mounts to the top edge of the bed, and took it to my muffler guy. He said he could make it, except he does not have the mandrel bender to make the smooth bends. His will compress it a bit. I can cut some rounded triangles out of sheet metal and weld them on to cover the corners, or maybe put lights in those corners. I dont think it will be too noticeable. I am waitning on him to call me with a price.

Re: How about some roll bar photos
Here's some on my "83 SB 4x4 with a custom made light bar. I've always wanted a truck with roll bars and off road lights.
