My harness and reflashed pcm from PSI showed up in the mail today...I'm impressed with it so far...I have heard some horror stories tho, but as far as I can tell everything looks awesome...

Re: PSI Conversions

I hope it all works out as I sent them my TCM.
I'm also using them for a new harness and ECM on my LS swap.
What horror stories have you heard?
Kim

I've heard that some connectors fall off, and some are miss-matched, but everything looks ok to me....I got them to send me a used pcm with a reflash to save time and shipping, plus it was only $200 vs the $150 for a flash....

Re: PSI Conversions

I got a harness from them and one of the fuel injector connectors was broken. Other than that, not bad for the price.

That doesn't sound to bad.
I'm getting the same deal on the ECM.

How hard was it to replace?

I Fixed that on harnalien's truck with a GM replacment plug/pigtail. Not hard at all, The rest of the plugs were fine. Harnalien's harness is the only PSI harness ive messed with but from what I saw it looked OK.

Thanks.
this is my first time dealing with this type of engine swap so it's all new to me.
I'm hoping for the best from these guys as money is tight and they had the best price for what I needed.
I went with them as another member used them and was happy with the outcome.

Re: PSI Conversions

looks great, and I love to hear some great stuff about PSI.
I'm going with their harness and tune for my swap, unless
someone can recommend another with the same price, quality,
and customer service??

Re: PSI Conversions

mocked up the harness on my motor today to see how it fit.....looks real good so far...only problem I found was, there is no connector for the oil pressure, and I may need a different MAF cause mine is out of a van and the connector's arent the same...

Re: PSI Conversions

Looks good.
I should be getting mine some time next week. I'm getting a MAF from PSI because I didn't have one.

Re: PSI Conversions

Vans use a smaller MAF you probably need a truck one but they're not too expensive in salvage yards and very plentiful. On the oil pressure, the PCM doesn't use it, it was only for the original trucks gauge.

Re: PSI Conversions

Are you running a 4l80e? The two small plugs are the input and output speed sensors, the big round one is the main plug to control the trans, and the one pictured is the neutral safety/back up lights/range sensor for the PRNDL on the dash. You don't really need it, but it is good to have it at least hooked up so that the PCM knows what gear it's in. But if your harness doesnt have a plug for it I guess that's not an option. Is there a wire in your harness that they say to hook up to your original neutral safety switch? It would be grounded in park and neutral.

Re: PSI Conversions

Is your harness setup for a 4L60E? That would explain not having a ISS connector, How many wires are going to the "big" plug? 11 or 13.

Then you can just take the NSS off the side of the transmission.

Re: PSI Conversions

Pretty much, although it does also run the PRNDL on the dash of the original truck.
