Throttle Cable?

Hey guys,,

On my '70 project, I'm kinda lost as to what cable I
need to use on the '70 pedal assembly? Can i just buy a universal
kit, I also have a donor vehicle cable from a f-body if those work??

Re: Throttle Cable?

If I am not mistaken the 1970 uses a rod style linkage. If you are converting to a cable style you will need a pedal of some sort. A throttle cable and a bracket to attach the throttle cable at the carburator. The stock parts from a 71-72 can be made to work with your applacation using one of the adaptor plates that are available from one of the venders on this board. Another option is Lokar we have everything it takes to convert to a cable setup it is a direct bolt in kit. Contact us toll free 1-877-469-7440

Re: Throttle Cable?

We also have throttle cables and throttle cable brackets for your applacation. We worked with Thorley headers on an engine dipstick to go around the headers also.

Re: Throttle Cable?

I've looked at the lokar, but I don't really want to spend $125+ for the
set up, unless there is a cheaper option im missing???

Re: Throttle Cable?

I would get a pedal out of a 71-72 that is ment for use with a cable then try to use the F-body cable.

Re: Throttle Cable?

I used a stock replacement cable from 01 Silverado, which is what my motor is out of on my 72 GMC. Worked great, just had to file some 1/2 rounds where the cable goes into firewall. If I were you I would convert over to the 71-72 pedal.
