Carb'd GenIII-single or dual plane?

OK, I plan to put a carb on my LS1 engine. My question is which intake should I get?

I know a dual plane will offer better low end torque, while a single plane will offer better higher rpm power. I asked the same question on at LS1tech.com and got different answers. Most favor the single plane design on GenIII motors because they make such a wide torque range to begin with.

Who has what? Why? And how do you like it?

Asked myself the same question...then I threw caution to the wind and went with a single plane (Victor Junior) simply because they look cooler

Yeah, they do look better. I just passed up a GREAT deal on a GM single plane on LS1Tech for $300 still NIB. I guess I should've jumped on it. It ended up selling for $275 shipped. With the cam, stall and gear I plan to run, though, I would think I'll need the extra low end torque.

I have the duel plain maniflod on mine and it has tons of low end even with my cam. I am sure you will lose a bit of hi end power with the duel but how often are you at 5000rpm compared to 2000 rpm.

mine's a genIV (rectangular intake ports) but I also run a dual plane...and my motor also puts out gobs of torque yet pulls strong up thru 6k-6500rpm or so.

I would go 2 plane, on a heavy truck....but I have the complete parts truck(fullie)? Gonna be a chit load of wires to hide, but I want the mileage crazyL

ive tested both of edelbrocks offerings and the result was that the dual plane intake didnt give up anything all the way to 6500rpm with a stock 6.0 and a zo6 cam in a foxbody coupe with a race car style set-up,so i'd imagine in a truck on the street it would be the better choice....hope this helps...billy.
