Anyone ever do a diy steering column drop?

I'm looking for a diagram to do up my own drop. I don't want to spend the $$$ on a store bought if I don't have to.

Anybody care to share what they have done?

Looking for mock up ideas.

Mine is going to be covered so I just used a muffler U bolt, couplings and threaded rod. Welded to the stock bracket. Column is 82 Eldorado.

I'd use wood to do the designing and then make on out of a block of aluminum or fold and weld some sheet metal to make one.

You can cut up a scrap board all day and make different variations and not spend a penny until you figure out exactly what you want.

Try to find a connecting rod with the right size big end,
trim to length and weld on a bracket to fit to the dash.
Sorry for no pics or drawings.
Good luck!
