Aluminum body mount bushings on a C/10

I have heard of people using an aluminum bushing but I cant find any anywhere. Are people using Camaro, or Nova ,Chevelle body mount bushings ?? What has to be changed if anything?

I never heard of such a thing but it depends on your definition of "body mount bushings". Body mount bushings are either rubber or poly and are designed to absorb vibration and road shock. Some people refer to the metal sleeves/spacers that go inside the rubber or poly bushings as bushings but I don't think that is correct. A picture of what you are referring to or replacing would be helpful.

ultra performance cars have them but not really suitable for a street driven vehicle// as it is the poly bushings are plenty rigid and transfer enough vibration and noise to the cab that i've seen a bunch of guys dump the poly andd go back to the original rubber in a short period of time

I have a set on my K5... They are spacers, not bushings. Bushings are two pieces that are stepped to fit together...

Re: Aluminum body mount bushings on a C/10

Ummmm, what I was asking about was a ''Body mount bushing" . Global west calls them bushings so I guess I will also. I was looking for aluminum for a reason, not for a vibration free ride. There are several people that have them but not for a truck, that is why I asked about a crossover part. Thanks

Re: Aluminum body mount bushings on a C/10

typically they are used on race cars for better transfer of weight etc. If you are wanting to use them i would take my old bushings and have a machine shop create them for you. As stated earlier it will be super rigid, but if you are looking to transfer weight and eliminate body flex this is the way to go.I think a quality poly will work fine (went down this road a long time ago)because the minimal transfer/flex reduction will be countered by the lack of weight in the rear.
