Brake Caliper Identification - Need an Expert Eye

I picked up a rear end for my 52 3100 that originally came off a 77 El Camino.

The rear is great and came with disk conversion. The problem is that I cant ID the calipers. Im having trouble figuring out which car they came off of. I originally though 79 Trans am but when I looked at the rebuild kit it the seals were too big.

The piston bore is about 1.8" to 1.9"
The rotor is about 10.5" and vented

Attached are some photos of the calipers

Thanks

That looks like a standard D52 caliper. Have you compared it to your stock front caliper?

I dont have any fronts yet.

So you think this is a front? Is a D52 a GM caliper or an aftermarket?

d52 is a standard gm front caliper used on a lot of stuff.I would take it too a good parts store see if they can run the casting numbers or mic it and a few rebuild kits see what will fit.

I might have to do that. Although Im not sure if its a D52 beacuse from what I have read the bore is bigger than mine. These are almost 2" pistons

Try a 82-88 Pontiac Firebird, Trans-Am, etc rear caliper. They had similar ones on mid 80's Cadillac's too. I think it's modeled after the GM "Metric" or D154 caliper, but has an e-brake lever.

Hope that helps.

Looking online I think an 82-88 Firebird is the ticket. I ordered a rebuild kit for that range.

Like you said, it does have and ebrake lever and is similar to the D154's

Thanks!!
