one word yes....2.5 spindles and 1.5 drop springs front, 5 inch rear, unless you c-notch the rear.

Re: how much drop is too much?

You wont as long as you dont hit anything! My front drop is the same and it leaves the a-arms very close to the ground. Front travel is limited for bumps.

If you are used to driving lowered trucks you will be ok; if not its going to be a learning experience. Constant scanning for objects/holes, how to gun it over speed bumps so you dont scrape, at what angle to hit sloped inclines while turning, etc.

It'll look totally cool!!

How much drop is too much? When the frame eats the pavement, and then its perfect!

Do you have any pics? That's the setup I'm thinking about.

Re: how much drop is too much?

How much is too much depends on how it's done (what parts are used). A 6" front drop using spindles & springs will have alot less ground clearance vs another one set-up w/a Dropmember or frame Z & some spindles.

With your 2.5" spindle /3" sping combo, that's prob about the max & still be daily drivable. You'll still have to be aware of road quality conditions & such but not to the point of being paraniod every time your slip behind the wheel.

The 5" spring w/1.5" block is plenty do-able. I would recommend using an air bag so you can still use the truck as a truck if desired.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I'm interested in doing air bags in the rear on my drop because it will still be used as a truck for a while. I don't need a whole kit with compressor and all just bags, some lines and a valve at the back. What would I need and where would I get parts for this set up?

I hope I don,t d-rail this thread too much.

the front has 2.5" drop spindles and 2" drop springs. you will need to upgrade to disk brakes if you have not already. the rear has 4" drop springs. i got the cpp spindles from summit racing, shipped to my house was cheaper than going through cpp. the springs i got from cpp. you can sometimes find drop springs and shocks on ebay.

I like it very much. Ride is good and it corners good with a big sway bar in front. I just have to be careful with road conditions. I did cut the bumpstops off the a-arms for a little more travel.

2x 6"/2500# bags (I like Firestones or Slam Spec's RE-6's)
2x 90° air fittings for the bags
2x schrader fittings to fill
Enough DOT air line to run from the bags to where you plan to install the schraders (<20' prob).

I would plumb the bags independently to prevent excess loading. 'Excess' meaning air pushing from one side to the other when leaning in a turn thus making 'normal' body roll more pronounced.
