Gas tank with EEC

I have a gas tank with EEC but the inside is really crusty so I have been searching for another gas tank with EEC. I found a guy who might have one that is out of his 1969 but cant remember if his has EEC. Did some 1969 Chevy trucks come with the EEC ?

Please let me know, Thanks.

Re: Gas tank with EEC

I'm 99% sure the 69 doesn't have the vapor system(mine doesn't). I think 71 was the first year, but there is always that 1% so............................... Hopefully others will chime in.

Re: Gas tank with EEC

you can clean and seal the tank with por 15 gas tank sealer in a weekend

using swimming pool acid (home depot) does a very good job of cleaning and preping the tank

71-72 are the only tanks that are the same

Re: Gas tank with EEC

Thanks for the info guys. The tank has been sitting in the truck for 17+years with about 5 gallons of gas in it (truck has sat in my garage for 17 years untouched )and I think I will attempt to clean it since it would be cheaper to clean than buy another one and the outside of the tank is like new.
