Axle swap and 4x4 conversion
Im wanting to swap out my axles and do a full conversion on my half ton 82 silverado im keeping my frame.Around here stuff is not easy to find but i found this 78 blazer set for 100 bucks theres a dana44 and a 12 bolt with 3:42 gears. The dana 44 doesnt have hub and doesnt have driver side shaft.I was thinking i want to take a gamble and for the parts missing i probably could find them around here.so i would buy them online aftermarket ir whatever hope there cheap. What you guys suggest.

Re: Axle swap and 4x4 conversion
It would be easier to find a 4x4 frame and go from there, unless you are going to fabricate your front spring hangars. The only reason my friend started converting the 63 chevy I bought from him to 4x4 is because those years are hard to find in 4wd where we live.
Do you know why the front is missing the driver side shaft and the other parts? Were they used to fix another axle or did the PO break them?
