rear main seal, 454, 85 4x4 ???

will the oil pan come off a big block in a 4x4 ?? will the motor jack up high enough to clear cross member ? my rear main seal is pouring, will it be just as easy to pull motor out ? cause i know the fan shroud is coming lose and distributor will probably have to come out.

Re: rear main seal, 454, 85 4x4 ???

I just dropped my pan. You have pick the truck up by the frame so that the front axles drops to it's lowest point... but then again, I have 6 inches of lift so your situation may require you to pull the motor as my situation was a tight squeeze to get the pan off. Good luck, don't mean to discourage you... but I got my rear and front main done and they both still leak. And I bought the good gaskets and used rtv where suggested. I was so mad it wasn't even funny.
